Choosing a location for your engagement photos

April 20, 2021

When deciding on where to do your engagement photos, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with options. Cincinnati is filled with great parks, and landmarks. But it also has some unsuspecting places that can easily be overlooked that are hidden gems.

All of that being said, we always encourage my clients to think about locations that are meaningful to them. In our Style Guide that we send to all our couples before their engagement session, we talk about choosing a location that means something to you as a couple.

Maybe you and your fiancé love the Reds, and going to a game was your first date. As a hat tip to that part of your relationship, we could shoot at Smale Park, or at The Banks. It doesn’t have to be a session wearing jerseys or pretending to throw pitches to each other to honor your love of the Reds. A subtle shot of the stadium in the background would be a great nod.

Similarly, if you and your fiancé love to hike and be outdoors, instead of doing an urban setting, maybe we shoot at a great park with some trails to walk on. Hamilton County Parks have so many options for different types of nature.

We have shot all over the city, from Liberty Center to Devou Park and everywhere in between. We absolutely love all of the different backdrops and energy that comes with each unique location.

Your engagement pictures are a chance to showcase your personalities as a couple and we want to showcase that. The next time we photograph you will be at your wedding. Although your wedding day will be exactly as you want it to be, nothing is quite as fun as your engagement session. There is nothing better than the moment you see your engagement pictures and you get excited about your wedding all over again!!!
